What is an Annual Wage Declaration?

What happens if I don’t declare my Wages?
You're in breach of your legal obligations!
You have a duty as a policy holder to report your wages correctly, yearly and promptly. If you have overreported your wages you will receive a premium rebate. If you have underreported your wages you will need to pay the difference. If you fail to report your wages, Workcover will raise your estimate of wages automatically. This will also increase the risk of a wage audit from your insurer. So, prepare, seek assistance and do it right.
Do I have to include Payments to my contractors?
Yes and No
Some of the payments you make to your Contractor who is a deemed worker might count as declarable wages, if they are seen as a worker for workers compensation reasons based on the annual WorkCover Wage Manual. This can be confusing, so we recommend getting advice from a professional like Employers Comp.

Do I include all my employees?
Yes and No
You have to report the gross wages that you paid to your workers who are employed by you in the state where your policy applies. For example, if you have employees in NSW and Queensland, then you would report wages for the NSW workers in your icare Annual Wages report. The employees in Queensland would report wages in your WorkCover Queensland wage report. You will need to have a policy in each state to protect workers of that state.
