It is a mandatory requirement for all employers in the state of Queensland who employ deemed workers. In Queensland Workers Compensation insurance is called Accident and Illness Insurance Cover.

In Queensland PAYG employees and some contractors are usually regarded as workers and you are required to take out an Accident and Illness policy. Sole Traders, working directors, Partner of a Partnership, although deemed workers are not required to take out a policy just for themselves.
